L1 and R1 bumpers

User careV1 · CFI-ZCT1W · BDM-010

Remove the external shoulder-button caps.

Confirm your revision

Reference: FCC ID AK8CFIZCT1 and motherboard BDM-010. Read the rear label; CFI-ZCT1W alone does not identify the internal revision.

BDM-020 and later controllers, and DualSense Edge, use different layouts. A removable rubber stick cap is not the soldered joystick module.

PRACTICAL REPAIR NOTES

Remove the external shoulder-button caps.

Signs to investigate

  • Broken bumper cap
  • Bumper no longer returns

Prepare your bench

  • Non-metallic spudger

Component procedure

  1. 01

Switch off and unplug the controller.

  2. 02

Hold the relevant trigger down to expose the gap between the bumper and trigger.

  3. 03

Ease the bumper from its clip with a plastic tool while catching it with a finger.

  4. 04

Align the replacement on its pivot and clip it in; check travel before further disassembly.

STOP POINT

A broken internal switch needs more than a new cap.

BEFORE YOU CALL IT DONE

Each bumper returns cleanly and registers once per press.

Restore all covers, shielding and cable routing before powered tests. Keep each screw in its original position. If fit or resistance changes, reopen and inspect rather than tightening harder.
