Reference: FCC ID AK8CFIZCT1 and motherboard BDM-010. Read the rear label; CFI-ZCT1W alone does not identify the internal revision.
BDM-020 and later controllers, and DualSense Edge, use different layouts. A removable rubber stick cap is not the soldered joystick module.
Replace the optical light guide when its plastic is damaged.
Signs to investigate
- Uneven illumination caused by broken diffuser
Prepare your bench
- Plastic opening pick
- Non-metallic spudger
- Organised screw tray
- Phillips #00 screwdriver
Access first
Complete these access guides before the component-specific notes below.
Component procedure
- 01
Distinguish a broken diffuser from an LED or board fault.
- 02
Disconnect the battery and expose the guide through the V1 frame sequence.
- 03
Release the guide without scratching its optical surfaces. Preserve orientation and nearby ribbon routing.
- 04
Fit a matching diffuser, restore the frame and close the case.
A new diffuser does not repair failed LEDs.
The light bar is even and no plastic piece presses against a cable.
Restore all covers, shielding and cable routing before powered tests. Keep each screw in its original position. If fit or resistance changes, reopen and inspect rather than tightening harder.
