Reference: FCC ID AK8CFIZCT1 and motherboard BDM-010. Read the rear label; CFI-ZCT1W alone does not identify the internal revision.
BDM-020 and later controllers, and DualSense Edge, use different layouts. A removable rubber stick cap is not the soldered joystick module.
A drifting sensor module is soldered to the board; changing the cap will not fix it.
Signs to investigate
- Persistent stick drift
- Dead axis
- Failed L3/R3 switch
Prepare your bench
- Soldering and desoldering equipment
- Magnification
- Axis-test software
Access first
Complete these access guides before the component-specific notes below.
Diagnose, isolate, then service
- 01
Update and reset the controller, then confirm the affected axis in an input test.
- 02
A technician must isolate the battery and expose the board without straining motor leads.
- 03
Remove the faulty module using controlled desoldering, inspect pads and fit a board-compatible module.
- 04
Check neutral position, full range, clicks and any required calibration before closing.
This is a soldered repair. Stop if you cannot remove the module without damaging pads.
Stable centre, complete travel and correct clicks on both sticks.
Restore all covers, shielding and cable routing before powered tests. Keep each screw in its original position. If fit or resistance changes, reopen and inspect rather than tightening harder.
