L2 and R2 trigger assemblies

Experienced repairV1 · CFI-ZCT1W · BDM-010

Service a complete adaptive-trigger assembly rather than guessing at individual gears.

Confirm your revision

Reference: FCC ID AK8CFIZCT1 and motherboard BDM-010. Read the rear label; CFI-ZCT1W alone does not identify the internal revision.

BDM-020 and later controllers, and DualSense Edge, use different layouts. A removable rubber stick cap is not the soldered joystick module.

PRACTICAL REPAIR NOTES

Service a complete adaptive-trigger assembly rather than guessing at individual gears.

Signs to investigate

  • Trigger will not return
  • Grinding adaptive resistance
  • Trigger input sticks

Prepare your bench

  • Plastic opening pick
  • Non-metallic spudger
  • Organised screw tray
  • Phillips #00 screwdriver

Access first

Complete these access guides before the component-specific notes below.

Component procedure

  1. 01

Record which side fails and whether ordinary input or adaptive resistance is affected.

  2. 02

Isolate the battery, free the trigger flex and expose the assembly through the V1 midframe sequence.

  3. 03

Remove the matched trigger assembly without losing its spring or stressing its flex. Preserve left/right orientation.

  4. 04

Fit the compatible assembly and restore the frame, flex and battery.

STOP POINT

Do not force a jammed gear train or assume left and right assemblies interchange.

BEFORE YOU CALL IT DONE

Check resting input, full travel, spring return and adaptive resistance in a supported game.

Restore all covers, shielding and cable routing before powered tests. Keep each screw in its original position. If fit or resistance changes, reopen and inspect rather than tightening harder.
