Reference: FCC ID AK8CFIZCT1 and motherboard BDM-010. Read the rear label; CFI-ZCT1W alone does not identify the internal revision.
BDM-020 and later controllers, and DualSense Edge, use different layouts. A removable rubber stick cap is not the soldered joystick module.
Service the board and its connectors only after cable and software checks.
Signs to investigate
- Damaged charging port
- Liquid-damaged board
- Persistent connection failure
Prepare your bench
- Soldering workstation
- Microscope
- ESD-safe bench
Access first
Complete these access guides before the component-specific notes below.
Diagnose, isolate, then service
- 01
Test a known-good USB data cable and reset/re-pair the controller first.
- 02
Isolate the battery. Record flex and motor-wire positions before board removal.
- 03
The board remains tethered by soldered actuator wires until those connections are serviced. A technician should diagnose connector damage and match the board revision.
- 04
Restore lead polarity and all ribbons; test wired data, charging, wireless connection and headset audio.
No live charging tests on an open controller or battery connected during soldering.
All input, charging and audio functions pass after reassembly.
Restore all covers, shielding and cable routing before powered tests. Keep each screw in its original position. If fit or resistance changes, reopen and inspect rather than tightening harder.
