Reference: FCC ID AK8CFIZCT1 and motherboard BDM-010. Read the rear label; CFI-ZCT1W alone does not identify the internal revision.
BDM-020 and later controllers, and DualSense Edge, use different layouts. A removable rubber stick cap is not the soldered joystick module.
The actuators are wired to the board and need soldered service.
Signs to investigate
- Missing haptics on one side
- Buzzing or loose actuator
Prepare your bench
- Soldering workstation
- ESD-safe tools
Access first
Complete these access guides before the component-specific notes below.
Diagnose, isolate, then service
- 01
Confirm vibration settings and compare both sides in a supported game.
- 02
A technician should isolate the battery and record lead polarity before disconnecting the actuator wiring.
- 03
Desolder the affected leads, release the actuator from its housing and fit a mechanically and electrically compatible unit.
- 04
Restore the correct lead positions and strain relief, then close and test.
Do not pull the actuator out while its leads remain soldered.
Both sides provide clean haptic response without rattling.
Restore all covers, shielding and cable routing before powered tests. Keep each screw in its original position. If fit or resistance changes, reopen and inspect rather than tightening harder.
